DICE Healthcare has appointed a Mental Health First Aider after recognising the effects of day-to-day pressures placed on its workforce.
Jonathan Rilett ‘Joe’ has stepped into this additional role with immediate effect following his completion at the end of October 2025. This will support the organisation, our employees and the clients we support with an increased focus on their mental wellbeing.
Joe, who has previously worked as a Registered Nurse in Accident and Emergency and various other settings across the NHS knows how working in a healthcare setting can impact on an individual’s mental health. He has been specifically trained to recognise the signs of workplace stress and mental health issues, offering his expertise or signposting a person towards the correct support if needed alongside his existing role of Care Coordinator.
Discussing this branch of his role, Joe said:
“ Care staff are undervalued within the care sector. It’s an emotionally challenging but rewarding role and it takes a special kind of person to do this kind of work. This new role will allow our staff to open up about how they are feeling and how we can support them with their mental health needs.”
“We are proud to have an open-door policy at DICE Healthcare. Our staff are always welcome to call in to discuss anything at all, it does not have to be work related.”
“I sincerely hope that this role will open up a new way of communicating and our staff and clients will receive the support they need at the time they need it most”
Jaine Fletcher, Registered Manager at DICE Healthcare, said:
“Joe’s wealth of experience in the NHS and healthcare sector made him the perfect person to become our Mental Health First Aider. In addition, Joe has a kind, understanding and empathetic nature made the decision easy to choose him to undertake this additional role. I am proud to announce this additional role and I hope it can be used to genuinely make a difference.”
